Unconfirmed report. Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae). 16:28 hours - Medium/large falcon with long tail and long wings flew WNW leisurely but direct over Tacumshane village area. It continued on the same trajectory but was lost behind trees, then relocated and lost again in haze. Forlornly searched Tacumshin Lake area for the next hour but not refound. Frustrating that it took me 8 seconds to grab binoculars by which time the bird had passed by and was heading away into the sunshine. However, silhouette, structure and gizz was neat match to Eleonora's Falcon. Had my bins been closer I feel sure that I could have nailed it. Light was perfect on approach. I can't claim the record but just putting it out there in the hope others might be inspired to look skyward. Incidentally, I've seen over 1000 Eleos in 6 countries so am very familiar with the species. NPW
