No sign of any White-rumped Sandpipers at Loch Port Chorruch, but a nice surprise was a drake American Wigeon with half a dozen Eurasians, plus a similar number of Mallard, on the sea just off the beach before settling on the beach right at the water's edge. Bird showed a massive white covert blaze even on a closed wing, which was what initially drew my eye. Unfortunately everything on the beach went up as I tried to sneak round the back to get near enough for a photo through my scope. (SMcC)
