Today it was i(roughly) in the middle of the island, east and north of Lough Tana (the island reservoir). It was on short grass and heather habitat. It is a wild bird and flies off long distances and attempts, when it lands, to sneak away. If it sees rushes, it usually hides among them. It often calls when it flies - a good locater.
