Scoped flying in off the sea. The upperparts were dark chocolate brown. Upper wing area lacking any obvious wing panels. The underparts lacked any obvious streaking and even at a distance the hooded head was very striking. Seen quartering the headland (500m), for c. 10 minutes before being lost to view.
