15:00 Grange Castle Business Park. This afternoon I may have encountered a pair of Northern Bullfinches. They caught my eye as they appeared to be about one third larger than a normal Bullfinch ( initially I thought they were redwings). They were very approachable. I was within 3 meters.and the rowan tree they were in was a stand alone and the local bullfinces never leave the hedgerows. The colours did not seem right, more subdued. They were gorging on rowan berries ( I have never seen the locals do that) I did not hear any calls.
