Saw a small brown hirundine/swift for about 5 minutes, hawking over the water behind Grand Canal Dock Dart Station, at 18:00 today. Didn’t get good views (I was on the northbound platform) as it seemed to blend in to the background buildings, but came within 20-30 feet on a few occasions. Rapid, darting, erratic flight – reminded me a little of a bat. Given what has turned up in the UK today it might be worth keeping an eye out. (Black-billed Cuckoo (Coccyzus erythrophthalmus), Yellow-billed Cuckoo (Coccyzus americanus), Chimney Swift (Chaetura pelagica), Hermit Thrush (Catharus guttatus), 2 Grey-cheeked Thrush (Catharus minimus), 5 of the 6 were in Scotland)
