| Comments : |
Interestingly, there is a hint of a pale stripe in the outer scapulars, which might be an indication of some Eurasian Teal influence in the bird's ancestry, but all other features, such as prominence of white on breast-side, density of grey vermiculation over whole body, slightly deeper colour of head, lack of prominent cream border to eyestripe, , plainer tertials, lack of pale line between rear flank and black on vent, more extensive spotting on belly are typical of Green-winged and not intermediate, as might be expected in an intergrade.
